Humidifying Beer Pumps Micro Matic, the World-leading manufacturer of beer dispensing equipment, has installed an ElectroVap humidifier from JS Humidifiers to test the condensation produced on their beer fonts at different humidities around the globe.

Micro Matic is based in Blackburn, where the company manufactures a range of beer dispensing equipment including fonts, taps, handles and beer coolers. The ElectroVap humidifier has been installed in a climatic test chamber that is used to test Micro Matic’s condensating fonts. These speciality beer pumps produce condensation on their surface to give a chilled mouth-watering appearance at the point-of-sale.

Ian Davies, Technical Manager at Micro Matic, comments, “We test our condensing fonts at different humidity levels so we can be assured that they always produce the perfect amount of condensation in bars across the World. As we export globally our products need to perform just as well in a Scandinavian bar with less than 30% relative humidity as they do in Sri Lanka with over 90% relative humidity.”

“Since the ElectroVap humidifier has been installed it has proved very reliable and is easy to use with push button controls to set the desired room humidity level.” Ian continues.

The humidifier installed at Micro Matic can produce up to 5kg of steam per hour and incorporates a fan unit that disperses the steam directly into the test chamber. The ElectroVap range includes models that can deliver up to 90kg of steam per hour that are more traditionally used with steam pipes delivering steam to air handling units.

The ElectroVap is designed for ease of maintenance with a boiling cylinder that can be drained at the push of a button, unclipped and replaced with a new one in a few minutes to manage limescale build-up. Disposable or cleanable boiling cylinders are available, both with solid stainless steel electrodes for long service life.

To protect against water stagnation, the cylinders automatically drain after periods of inactivity. This adjustable feature prevents contamination and represents best practice in steam humidifier design.
